First post. Why I started this site.
Why start it
I’ve been building things quietly and archiving the code when done. A few problems crept in:
- No process record — once done, forgotten
- No entry point for non-developer friends
- No feedback channel — no idea what others think
So I started this site. Not for marketing, just a versioned workbench for myself.
What’s next
Three kinds of posts:
- Dev logs — trade-offs and pitfalls while building a feature
- Tool notes — things I’ve used and would recommend
- Notes — day-to-day life as an indie developer
No update schedule. I write when I have something to say.
Why this format
I tried a few publishing setups and settled on something lightweight and easy to maintain. Reasons:
- Posts versioned alongside code
- Low maintenance
- Fast and pleasant to read
- A simple place for feedback
Fits one person maintaining it slowly.
